A Bitcoin mining farm in Texas showed that it is now possible to mine ‘green’ Bitcoins thanks to renewable energy, which should make Wall Street happy. On top of that, there was news that US oil giant Exxon would use it’s leftover gas to mine bitcoin as well.

Meanwhile Dogecoin saw a jump of it’s price when it became available in ATMs across the country, broadening its appeal to possible investors.

Lone star state

The New York Times reported that wind and solar farms in Texas are now being used to mine Bitcoin and that the promise of ‘green’ crypto mining has therefore been met in the Lone Star State.

Peter Wall, CEO of Blockchain company Argo said:

This is Bitcoin mining nirvana. You look off into the distance and you’ve got your renewable power.

Argo, a London-based company which was founded in 2017 when Bitcoin briefly touched $20k for the first time, runs two other mines in Quebec, Canada, using mostly hydropower. The firm is determined to become a leader in ‘green’ crypto mining.

Bitcoin of America

Dogecoin, the original memecoin, saw a jump to a monthly high of around 13 cents yesterday, and for once Tesla CEO Elon Musk had nothing to do with it. The memecoin featuring a cute Shiba Inu dog saw spectacular gains after the ‘Bitcoin of America’ company announced that it would make the coin available for withdrawal on all of it’s ATMs.

The company has no less than 1800 cryptocurrency ATMs across various American states. Their new universal kiosk combine

The capabilities of a traditional ATM with a Bitcoin ATM and offers 3 main functions. The first is the traditional ATM feature where customers can dispense cash from a debit card. The second function is being able to buy cryptocurrency with cash. The last is that customers can sell crypto in return for cash.

Puppy Day

On top of the Bitcoin of America news, Dogecoin also received extra attention on social media because of National Puppy Day, with Binance, Coinbase and other major crypto exchanges teasing the communities behind the most popular canine meme coins.
