Amazon Beats Apple TV And Netflix To Produce FTX Scandal Series

As from the moment that the FTX scandal started to spread, there was a lonely tweet suggesting a movie to be made about Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) and his fall from grace. The tweet suggested that Jonah Hill, most famous for his role as Donnie Azoff in the Wolf of Wall Street, would play SBF because of the likeness of the two men.

Two weeks later and Amazon has just beaten Netflix and Apple TV to the punch to film an 8-part series about FTX. Given that newspapers are constantly reporting about SBF and his life in the Bahamas, it is clear there is great public interest.

FTT and CZ

As you know, FTX was founded in 2019 only and thanks to smart investing became one of the biggest and most well-known cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide. However, when it was reported that sister company Alameda Research was stuffing it’s books with the FTT coin’s value, the whole house of cards quickly crumbled. Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, the CEO of Binance, offered to bail them out at first. But when Binance did some due diligence, they pulled out of the deal and the value of FTT collapsed.

Some $2 billion in customer funds are reportedly missing and the FBI is said to be investigating Sam Bankman-Fried, also known as SBF, the former CEO and co-founder of FTX.
