Strategy Surges Against Bitcoin as BitMine Holds Billions in Ethereum Losses
Bitcoin’s sharp rise above $76.000 means Strategy is once again sitting on a clear profit from its massive BTC position. Based on a Bitcoin price of $76.381,61, the company is now holding approximately $837.6 million in unrealised gains. For BitMine, the picture looks very different: despite the recent recovery, its Ethereum position is still more than $5.7 billion underwater.
Strategy makes nearly $838 million on Bitcoin
Strategy currently holds 840,447 Bitcoin at an average purchase price of $75.385 per BTC.
At a Bitcoin price of $76.381,61, the difference now amounts to $996.61 per Bitcoin. Multiplied across the full position, that works out to roughly $837.6 million in unrealised profit.
At the current price, Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings are worth around $64.2 billion.
That marks a considerable change from recently. When Bitcoin was still trading below Strategy’s average purchase price, the position was in the red on paper. The 9.82% rally in 24 hours has quickly changed that.
BitMine remains over $5.7 billion in the red
At BitMine, the situation remains far more severe. According to the figures provided, the company holds 5,815,164 Ethereum at an average purchase price of $3.366.
Ethereum is currently trading at around $2.383,47. That is $982.53 below the average purchase price.
This puts the unrealised loss at approximately $5.71 billion.
The ETH position itself is worth approximately $13.86 billion at the current price. Despite a rise of 6.14% in 24 hours and 26% in seven days, Ethereum still has a long way to go before BitMine is back at its average purchase price.
The contrast is striking: Strategy is benefiting directly from the strong Bitcoin rally and is back hundreds of millions in profit, while BitMine, despite Ethereum’s recovery, is still nursing a multibillion-dollar loss.
