OKX launches crypto payment card with 2% cashback and additional benefits
OKX is pushing harder into crypto payments. With the OKX Card, users can spend funds from the same platform where they hold and trade crypto. The card stands out for its 2% cashback, yield on stablecoins and perks on a range of subscriptions.
Cashback and subscription discounts
According to the information shared by OKX, users can receive 2% cashback on payments. OKX also runs promotions that reimburse 50% of the cost of services such as Netflix, ChatGPT or Claude, with the benefit capped at €20.
The card has no monthly or annual subscription fees. OKX also charges no extra currency conversion markup on payments made in other currencies.
Another notable feature is the yield on stablecoins. OKX cites an automatic return of 3.5%. By comparison, the company says typical crypto cards offer around 1%.
Spending crypto is getting easier
The card fits into a broader trend of crypto platforms moving from trading to everyday payments. As a result, users no longer need to shift their assets to a traditional banking environment before they can spend them.
That makes crypto cards more appealing to people who already keep part of their wealth on a trading platform.
The exact terms and availability can vary from country to country. OKX also notes that crypto carries risks and that being placed on a waiting list does not guarantee someone will actually receive the card.
