Hollywood produces Onecoin Ponzi scheme movie

Just as the lawyer for OneCoin founder Bulgarian-born Ruja Ignatova was disbarred in New York, on the other end of the United Stated plans for a movie about the major crypto Ponzi scheme are becoming crystal clear.

Over in New York, the attorney for the notorious scammer Ruja Cryptoqueen Ignatova, was disbarred from practicing law after it was found he had helped the company launder money on a massive scale.

Mark S. Scott, the former Locke Lord LLP lawyer, famously billed OneCoin some 50 million to help them clear 400 million before US tax authorities were made aware of the earnings.

OneCoin founder

Ruja Ignatova, the Bulgarian woman who masterminded the scheme, has since secretly disappeared. Producers have decided that she will be played by none other than Titanic star Kate Winslet and the production company hope the movie, which will be named Fake!, can be released next year. We already wonder whether Bitcoin will be used in the tagline as well.

Fake! is going to be based on the (yet to be published) book by Jen McAdam, who got directly involved with the OneCoin Ponzi scheme.

Of course, given the storyline surrounding the OneCoin Ponzi scheme and the mysterious disappearance of the main protagonist, it was always clear that Hollywood could be interest in turning it into a full blown Hollywood production. Although scam movies are not your best kind of publicity, there is of course no such thing as bad publicity, as the Wolf of Wall Street taught us.
