Fredrick Brennan Slams QAnon Bitcoin Link

Fredrick Brennan, the creator of multiple infamous message boards, is a known cryptographer and code-writer. In the past few years, he was featured in various interviews and even the protagonist of a Vice documentary. This time round, his anger is mostly aimed at Donald Trump’s most ardent supporters, the QAnon conspiracy theorists.

In the past few days, Brennan got hold of a Financial Times article which ran at the end of August that claimed a link between blockchain technology, Bitcoin and the QAnon conspiracy theory.

Tripcodes

As we’ve also explained, the renowned Financial Times tried to prove a link between the group, now deemed a domestic terrorist organization by the FBI, and the cryptocoin invented by Satoshi Nakamoto.

It has since become clear that blockchain and Bitcoin are wrongly affiliated with online conspiracy theories.

This time round, Brennan blasted the FT mostly for wrongly explaining how both blockchain and tripcodes work, stating:

Fredrick Brennan, who’s been in the public eye ever since 2014, became notorious following his decision not to slam supporters of the Gamergate controversy who teamed up against video game developer Brianna Wu. The ordeal was explained in Zoe Quinn’s book Crash Override.

After that, his now defunct website 8Chan became the second most popular English-language imageboard on the web before it was sold.

He later moved to the Philippines but has returned to the US as from this year.
