Donald Trump sells millions of dollar worth of Ethereum

During his term as US President (from 2016 to 2020), Donald Trump was not really known as a fan of the cryptosphere. He was convinced that a rising Bitcoin price could only mean that the US dollar would soon become less important.

However, he has clearly learned what digital coins can mean and how to capitalize on his popularity.

Which is why in December of 2020 he started an NFT collection with images of himself in various popular poses.

The global media found it hilarious and Trump’s sales pitch for his collection became the subject of a skit for the popular television show Saturday Night Live.

Arkham

Yet the images proved very popular with his supporters and Trump made a nice profit from selling these. In August of this year we already reported that one crypto wallet linked to the former president had around $500,000 in Ethereum.

That amount had grown steadily ever since then.

Data company Arkham revealed that Trump sold about $2.4 million worth of Ether earlier this week, all with proceeds from his NFT collection.

At its peak, that crypto wallet apparently was worth about $4 million.

Looks like Donald Trump is selling his ETH.

Arkham believes Trump has about $2.2 million worth of crypto left at the moment, in various currencies.

Melania Trump also launched an NFT collection, but it is still unknown how much she has earned.
