Bitvavo introduces credit card deposits

Bitvavo has officially announced the introduction of credit card deposits to its platform. This new feature, currently available to 1% of its total user base, marks a big step in Bitvavo’s commitment to providing seamless and efficient transaction methods for its users.

With a keen eye on security and user experience, the platform is set to gradually expand this feature to all its customers. From March 4, all users on the Bitvavo platform will be able to use credit card deposits.

Understanding the importance of stability and security, Bitvavo has opted for a cautious approach in rolling out this new feature. Initially, credit card deposits will be closely monitored to ensure the integrity and reliability of the payment process.

Update March: Credit card deposits are live for all users. To celebrate this new feature, all new customers receive a €20 free crypto bonus.

Bitvavo credit card features

The introduction of credit card deposits comes with the release of version 2.36 of the Bitvavo app, enabling users to make deposits using their VISA & Mastercard credit cards.

What you can expect from the credit card deposits:

• A maximum deposit limit of €10,000, ensuring a balance between flexibility and security.
• Mandatory validation of the cardholder’s name against the Bitvavo registration name, adding an extra layer of security.
• Credit cards deposits will be available in the app and web-based platform.

Credit card deposits will be available to all users in March

Bitvavo has outlined its roadmap for the full integration of credit card deposits. By the first week of March, the platform plans to release the feature to the full customer base. This update will also introduce the ability to save credit card details on file, streamlining the deposit process for future transactions.

From March 4, 2024, all Bitvavo users will enjoy the full benefits of credit card deposits across both the website and the mobile app. This expansion is geared towards making digital asset transactions more accessible, convenient, and secure for everyone on the platform.

Supported cards and security measures

Bitvavo supports deposits made with Mastercard and Visa credit cards, excluding Maestro, gift cards, prepaid cards, and business credit cards due to the potential risks associated with these types of cards. Users are advised to contact their banks if they receive automatic alerts for transactions, as this is a common security measure for crypto platform transactions
