Bitcoin rises while Overwatch forums are flooded with crypto scams because of Amber Heard cosplay scandal

In the slightly lighter news this week, there was another very nice detail to be found in Elon Musk’s latest biography by Walter Isaacson. This created a whole new type of crypto scam.

Bitcoin rose slightly thanks to the inflation data from the United States and the Deutsche Bank news and is once again trading close to $27,000. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is worth $26,500.

Fortunately, we are already in the middle of September and we now have to wait for the best month for Bitcoin, namely October.

Cosplay

Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon Musk has been making news for a whole week. The latest resulting scandal spawned new crypto scams on gamer forums about the popular game ‘Overwatch’, which came out when Musk was dating Amber Heard.

When Amber Heard split from Johnny Depp, she started a relationship with Elon Musk shortly afterwards, which would eventually last a good 15 months.

Musk told her, according to the new biography, that she reminded him of Mercy, a support character from Overwatch, a popular game he was a fan of. Heard responded by cosplaying as the Mercy character for him.

She spent two months designing and commissioning a head-to-toe costume so she could role-play for him.

Musk went on to post a picture of his then-girlfriend in the costume on his social media platform and explained, “She did dress up as Mercy. It was awesome.”

Apparently Heard did not give permission to share the picture.

Reddit and other social media platforms that have an Overwatch forum have since been plagued by crypto scams with Elon Musk promising to give away crypto. As Google searches for the terms ‘Overwatch’ and ‘Mercy’ have skyrocketed these last few days, this unfortunately seems like a logical consequence. A brand new ‘Overwatch’ coin has also appeared on CoinMarketCap since, clearly a fake project.
