How to buy VeChain, step by step
Choose an exchange with a MiCA authorisation
Find an exchange in the list above that holds a MiCA authorisation and offers VeChain. Create an account and switch on two-factor authentication straight away.
Complete your identity check
Identity checks are mandatory under MiCA. You provide a valid ID document plus a selfie or short clip, usually cleared in a few minutes.
Deposit euros
You deposit from € 5 by credit card, SEPA bank transfer or Wero. A credit card or Wero payment is almost immediate; a free SEPA transfer takes a working day.
Buy VET
Choose VeChain, enter an amount in euros and confirm. A fraction of a VET is fine, at the price applying at that moment.
Store or stake it
Leave your VET on the exchange or send it to a wallet of your own. Holding VET generates VTHO automatically, and through the network you can also stake VET for a reward.
Payment methods
You can fund your account and buy VeChain with:
- iDEAL: Direct, gratis (NL)
- Bancontact: Direct (BE)
- SEPA overboeking: Gratis bankoverschriving, 1 werkdag
- Wero: Direct van bank naar bank
- PayPal: Hoge fee van 2%
- Creditcard: Hoge fees van rond de 3%
Where can I buy VeChain?
You can buy VeChain easily at the VET exchanges we show on this page, from as little as € 5. Only exchanges with a MiCA authorisation are shown. You pay by credit card, SEPA bank transfer or Wero.

Only exchanges with a MiCA authorisation
Since 30 December 2024 MiCA governs crypto services in every EU country. The grandfathering period for firms with an older registration closed during 2025, so a national registration by itself no longer counts. What a MiCA authorisation means for you:
- A European supervisor keeps ongoing oversight of the exchange
- Your funds and crypto stay separate from the exchange’s own balance sheet
- Fees and the risks involved must be clear from the outset
- KYC identity verification is a requirement
An authorisation tells you nothing about the price risk, which remains yours.
The VeChain price and volatility
Investing in VeChain is risky, as the VET price is volatile and can rise or fall quickly. The chart below gives an impression of how the price has moved over time. Only invest sums you can afford to lose.

What is VeChain?
VeChain is a blockchain project focused on supply chain management and business solutions. Its network, VeChainThor, makes it possible to track products from factory to consumer, so transparency and authenticity can be demonstrated. Companies such as Walmart China, BMW and DNV use the VeChain blockchain for logistics processes. The project was set up in 2015 by Sunny Lu, formerly IT director at Louis Vuitton China, and uses a Proof of Authority consensus, in which known, approved parties secure the network.
A distinctive feature is the two-token system. VET is the main token for transferring value, while VTHO (VeThor) is generated automatically by holding VET. VTHO pays for transactions on the network, which means that as a VET holder you build up VTHO passively. VeChain also focuses increasingly on sustainability and tracking CO2 emissions, among other things through ToolChain.
Staking VET
Since 2025 you can also stake with VeChain through the so-called StarGate system, in which you lock VET in a node and receive a reward on top of the VTHO you already generate. This can be done from a wallet of your own. When you lock VET it is blocked for a period, and as with any investment the reward is not fixed.
Storing VeChain in a wallet
After your purchase, your VET sits in the exchange wallet, which controls the keys. For larger amounts or longer-term storage, a wallet of your own is safer. Your options:
- Exchange wallet: built in at the exchange, low effort, but you do not hold the keys
- Software wallet: VeWorld, the official VeChain wallet
- Hardware wallet: a Ledger, Trezor or comparable device keeping your keys offline, best for larger amounts
With your own wallet you receive a recovery phrase, usually twelve or twenty-four words. Anyone who has those words can reach your VET, so store it offline, never share it and never photograph it. Lose the recovery phrase and your VeChain is gone for good.
How do I choose an exchange to buy VeChain?
All exchanges deliver the same VET, so it comes down to the terms:
- Fair trading fees and the spread, without unexpected charges
- Which member state’s regulator granted the MiCA authorisation
- A mobile app for Android and iOS
- A broad range of coins
- Good support in your language
The VeChain price can rise and fall sharply, and being authorised changes none of that. Judge for yourself how much you can afford to lose and do your own research.
