How to buy Kyber Network, step by step

1

Check whether the exchange offers KNC

Not every exchange with a MiCA authorisation lists Kyber Network. Check the overview above and the trading pair, usually KNC/EUR or KNC/USDT.

2

Complete your identity check

Under MiCA a KYC check is mandatory. You upload a valid ID document and take a selfie or short video, usually done within a few minutes.

3

Deposit euros

Deposit from € 5 by credit card, a SEPA bank transfer or Wero, which lands almost instantly. A SEPA transfer is free but takes a business day.

4

Buy KNC

Choose Kyber Network, enter an amount in euros and confirm. KNC is an ERC20 token, so sending it over Ethereum involves network fees.

5

Store or vote

Leave your KNC on the exchange or send it to a wallet of your own. With KNC you can vote in the KyberDAO and earn a reward.

Payment methods

You can fund your account and buy Kyber Network with:

  • iDEAL: Direct, gratis (NL)
  • Bancontact: Direct (BE)
  • SEPA overboeking: Gratis bankoverschriving, 1 werkdag
  • Wero: Direct van bank naar bank
  • PayPal: Hoge fee van 2%
  • Creditcard: Hoge fees van rond de 3%

Where can I buy Kyber Network?

You can buy Kyber Network at the KNC exchanges we show on this page, from as little as € 5. We only show exchanges that hold a MiCA authorisation. You pay by credit card, SEPA bank transfer or Wero.

Only exchanges with a MiCA authorisation

Since 30 December 2024 the MiCA regulation applies across the European Union, and national transition arrangements for previously registered firms ended in the course of 2025, so a national registration alone is no longer enough. What a MiCA authorisation means for you:

  • The exchange is under ongoing supervision by an EU regulator
  • Your euros and crypto are kept separate from the exchange’s own assets
  • Costs and risks must be stated clearly in advance
  • A KYC identity check is mandatory

An authorisation says nothing about the price risk, which stays with you. An altcoin with a smaller market capitalisation moves harder than Bitcoin, both up and down.

The Kyber Network price and volatility

Investing in Kyber Network is risky, as the KNC price can rise and fall quickly. The chart below gives an impression of how the price has moved over time. Only invest money you can afford to lose.

What is Kyber Network?

Kyber Network is an on chain protocol with which you can swap crypto directly, without a central exchange. Its best-known product is KyberSwap, a decentralized exchange and aggregator that spreads orders across several sources to find a good price. Other apps can build that swap function into their own platform through Kyber. The protocol runs on Ethereum and on several other networks.

KNC is the token of the network. Holders can lock up KNC in the KyberDAO, where they vote on the protocol and receive part of the trading fees as a reward. The current KNC replaced the original token in 2021, which has since been known as KNC Legacy. In November 2023 the KyberSwap service was hit by an attack in which a large amount was taken; the protocol itself continued to exist.

Storing Kyber Network in a wallet

After your purchase, your KNC sits in the exchange wallet, which controls the keys. For larger amounts or longer-term storage, a wallet of your own is safer. Your options:

  • Exchange wallet: built in at the exchange, easy, but you do not hold the keys
  • Software wallet: MetaMask, OKX Wallet or Trust Wallet (KNC is an ERC20 token, so any Ethereum wallet works)
  • Hardware wallet: a device such as a Ledger or Trezor that keeps your keys offline, safest for larger amounts

With a wallet of your own you get a recovery phrase of usually twelve or twenty-four words. Whoever has those words has access to your KNC, so keep it offline, never share it and never take a photo of it. If you lose the recovery phrase, your Kyber Network cannot be recovered.

How do I choose an exchange to buy Kyber Network?

Every exchange delivers the same KNC, so the difference is in the terms:

  • How high the trading fees and the spread are
  • Which regulator granted the MiCA authorisation
  • Whether Kyber Network is offered
  • Whether there is an app and support in your language
  • Which payment methods are available (credit card, SEPA bank transfer or Wero)

The Kyber Network price can move sharply, and an authorisation does not change that. Decide for yourself how much you can afford to lose and do your own research.
