How to buy Band Protocol, step by step
Check whether the exchange offers BAND
Not every exchange with a MiCA authorisation lists Band Protocol. Check the overview above and the trading pair, usually BAND/EUR or BAND/USDT.
Complete your identity check
Under MiCA a KYC check is mandatory. You upload a valid ID document and take a selfie or short video, usually done within a few minutes.
Deposit euros
Deposit from € 5 by credit card, a SEPA bank transfer or Wero, which lands almost instantly. A SEPA transfer is free but takes a business day.
Buy BAND
Choose Band Protocol, enter an amount in euros and confirm. A fraction of a BAND is fine, at the price applying at that moment.
Store or stake it
Leave your BAND on the exchange or send it to a wallet of your own. You can also delegate BAND to a validator that runs the oracle and earn a reward.
Payment methods
You can fund your account and buy Band Protocol with:
- iDEAL: Direct, gratis (NL)
- Bancontact: Direct (BE)
- SEPA overboeking: Gratis bankoverschriving, 1 werkdag
- Wero: Direct van bank naar bank
- PayPal: Hoge fee van 2%
- Creditcard: Hoge fees van rond de 3%
Where can I buy Band Protocol?
You can buy Band Protocol at the BAND exchanges we show on this page, from as little as € 5. We only show exchanges that hold a MiCA authorisation. You pay by credit card, SEPA bank transfer or Wero.

Only exchanges with a MiCA authorisation
Since 30 December 2024 the MiCA regulation applies across the European Union, and national transition arrangements for previously registered firms ended in the course of 2025, so a national registration alone is no longer enough. What a MiCA authorisation means for you:
- The exchange is under ongoing supervision by an EU regulator
- Your euros and crypto are kept separate from the exchange’s own assets
- Costs and risks must be stated clearly in advance
- A KYC identity check is mandatory
An authorisation says nothing about the price risk, which stays with you. An altcoin with a smaller market capitalisation moves harder than Bitcoin, both up and down.
The Band Protocol price and volatility
Investing in Band Protocol is risky, as the BAND price can rise and fall quickly. The chart below gives an impression of how the price has moved over time. Only invest money you can afford to lose.
What is Band Protocol?
Band Protocol is a decentralized oracle network. An oracle delivers data from outside the blockchain, such as prices, to smart contracts that cannot reach the outside world on their own. DeFi applications use such oracles, for example, to determine the price of a coin. The project started in 2017 and first ran as an ERC20 token on Ethereum.
In 2020 Band launched its own blockchain, BandChain, built with the Cosmos SDK. That chain gathers data from several sources and delivers it to different networks. The token BAND is used to secure the network: validators and delegators lock up BAND and earn a reward for supplying data correctly. BAND also serves for governance.
Storing Band Protocol in a wallet
After your purchase, your BAND sits in the exchange wallet, which controls the keys. For larger amounts or longer-term storage, a wallet of your own is safer. Your options:
- Exchange wallet: built in at the exchange, easy, but you do not hold the keys
- Software wallet: a Cosmos wallet such as Keplr, with which you can hold and delegate BAND on BandChain
- Hardware wallet: a device such as a Ledger or Trezor that keeps your keys offline, safest for larger amounts
With a wallet of your own you get a recovery phrase of usually twelve or twenty-four words. Whoever has those words has access to your BAND, so keep it offline, never share it and never take a photo of it. If you lose the recovery phrase, your Band Protocol cannot be recovered.
How do I choose an exchange to buy Band Protocol?
Every exchange delivers the same BAND, so the difference is in the terms:
- How high the trading fees and the spread are
- Which regulator granted the MiCA authorisation
- Whether Band Protocol is offered
- Whether there is an app and support in your language
- Which payment methods are available (credit card, SEPA bank transfer or Wero)
The Band Protocol price can move sharply, and an authorisation does not change that. Decide for yourself how much you can afford to lose and do your own research.
